Synopsis: Amidst the fast-paced world of kart racing, Kart Racer tells the story of a boy and his father as they struggle to redefine their relationship after a great loss. By 2002, there were over 25,000 go kart tracks internationally. Steve Hix, executive director of the International Recreational Go Kart Association in San Antonio Texas says the appeal is not bound by political borders or age. People from 6 to mid-60s drive go karts in North America, Europe, South Africa, Asia, as well as Latin and South America. For kids, it's their first chance behind the wheel. Hundreds of millions of people can't be wrong about go karting. 14-year-old Watts Davies (Will Rothhaar) knows he's not wrong. He wants to race. A gifted, but unpolished go-kart racer, he wants to win. And he wants to have his father's support when he crosses that finish line. The untimely death of his mother has left him estranged from his dad (Randy Quaid), a former International Karting Federation (IKF) champion, just when Watts needs him the most. To make matters worse, Rodney Wells (Joe Dinicol), the town bully is doing his best to keep Watts out of the upcoming IKF Regional Championships. Watts seeks solace at the local video arcade, operated by game guru Zee (Harland Williams). When the current champion, Scott McKenna (David Gallagher) steps into the picture, it galvanizes Watts and his father to rekindle their relationship, letting Watts enjoy the exhilaration of true teamwork with his hodgepodge crew of friends and one special graffiti-loving girl named Dahlia (Amanda de Martinis).   Source: Premiere Marketing Group
